Sony Ericsson will launch its first dual-core mobile phone - Xperia Duo
Handset maker Sony Ericsson will launch its first dual-core mobile phone code-named Xperia Duo in September this year.

The device will have a 1.4GHz dual core processor (possible platforms ST-Ericsson NovaThor A9500, U8500, or Qualcomm MSM8260)

Xperia Duo will have a 12 megapixels camera with Exmor R CMOS imaging sensor and LED flash. The camera should also be able to record 1080p full high definition video.

The device will be integrated with Bravia Mobile Engine technology from Sony Ericsson and could have an 1.5GB of RAM (most of the current devices have only 1GB of RAM).

The mobile phone will run on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system but hopefully the OS will update with the launch of the next version of Android.

It will also have a 2500mAh battery which should provide the user with an entire day worth of battery life.

The phone should be available in September this year, but its price is still steeped in uncertainty
